Patient portal
Medica PRM's patient portal is an integral part of its iMediVault functionality (not a third-party add-on), providing remote access, off-site data backup, and simplified technical support. The portal, which works over any Internet connection or from a waiting-room kiosk, allows patients to pre-enter information electronically. This function not only saves staff time, it improves accuracy and allows patients to make address changes themselves.
- Secure patient portal allows patients to enter their own demographic data, histories, and other preliminary information from any Internet terminal or an office kiosk. They can also see their medication history
- Patients can request an appointment by generating a message to the front desk; certain calendars and appointment types can be set aside to show in the patient portal as available appointments
- The office kiosk also enables patients to check themselves in or enter demographic and history information upon arrival
- Data entered through the patient portal directly populates the clinical chart, highlighted to facilitate physician review
- The patient portal is organized by responsible party, so family members' data appears in one login
Provider portal
iMediVault also offers physicians the ability to see patient data securely from any Internet terminal. This capability complements the iMedica replication (cache) function, which allows providers to work anywhere, with or without an Internet connection. The provider portal offers access to data, including messages, patient charts, and calendars, but more limited "write" capabilities.
The provider portal contains the same content as the user's normal iMedica PRM desktop, including messages and the patient ledger; for example, a physician traveling over the weekend could use the portal to send a message responding to an emergency refill request. iMedica's provider portal isn't meant to replace the laptop or tablet, but to extend access to any computer, from any location.
Remote Backup and Storage
iMediVault increases practices' data security by providing a real-time, continuous, off-site data backup with patented data security. It is not intended to provide an instant system restoration, but a redundant backup in case of emergency. If a practice lost all of its data, the information in iMediVault could be used to restore the database.
In addition, iMediVault allows iMedica technical support to analyze and solve problems quickly by accessing the practice's data remotely. This enables iMedica to solve problems in hours (or less) that might otherwise take days.
